Hacks for kicking anxiety to the curb

If you’re anything like me, anxiety has been a struggle for years. Luckily, I’ve picked up a few tips and tricks along the way that have helped take the edge off. Let’s get into it:

Sweat it out

I know it sounds cliche, but it actually works… When those intrusive thoughts start to creep up, stop what you’re doing and get physical. It doesn’t have to be a class or a 2-hour hike, go for a 10-minute walk around the neighborhood, do a few push-ups, or even a 10-minute Peloton ride. I promise you’ll notice a difference.

Ice

Strange but simple — grab some ice cubes from your freezer and hold them in your hands. It completely redirects your mind and will have you feeling better in no time.

Tap, tap, tap

Ever heard of the Tapping Solution? Another simple hack that really works and only requires your fingers! Check out a three-minute guide here.

Meditate

This one has been a game-changer. While it requires some dedication (*consistency is key*), I promise, it’s worth it. Carve out 10 minutes every day to practice and stick to it. My lifesaver has been the Insight Timer app.

Magnesium

I know, I know — I probably sound like a broken record by this point but magnesium is my BFF when it comes to anxiety. My favorite solution is this topical magnesium oil spray — rub it in and let it absorb before moisturizing for the *ultimate* relaxation experience.

Nourish!

Focus on nourishing your body with a healthy diet (we’re talking real, whole foods that are packed with minerals — think eggs, meat, fiber, probiotics) and ample hydration — meet your hydration goals with our favorite electrolyte powder. And don’t forget about sleep! When your body feels nourished, so does your mind.

It’s just a thought

Something to keep in mind — when an intrusive thought pops up, labeling it as a thought and continually reminding yourself that it’s just a thought (AKA not real!), helps a ton.

Now shut your phone off and start calming your mind!

Love,

WB
