The *perfect* wind-down routine

The older we get, the harder it’s becoming to shut our brains off at the end of the day to get some high-quality zzzs.

The only thing that’s seemed to help? Leaning into an intentional wind-down routine.

These simple rituals will have you snoozing in no time, sleeping beauty.

Night night, phone

First things first, get your phone out of the bedroom!

At least an hour before bedtime, I turn my phone on airplane mode, plug it in for the night in the kitchen, and don’t make contact again until the morning.

Of all our tips, this one has been the ultimate game-changer for my sleep.

Feel like you can’t make this one work because you’ve been using your phone as your alarm clock? Protip! An ACTUAL ALARM CLOCK can solve that problem for you 😉.

Our favorite alarm clock

Kogonee Wooden Digital Alarm Clock

Why we love it: sleek, simple, and 100% dimmable (after I get in bed, I turn the light completely off to keep the room as dark as possible)

Tea time

While you’re in the kitchen ditching your phone for the night, don’t forget to take your supplements, and brew up a cup of tea to help you hydrate and chill the heck out. While you sip, feel free to journal, read, meditate, or do whatever you need to do to help turn your brain off — just no doom scrolling.

Our favorite nighttime tea

Numi Sweet Slumber

Why we love it: organic, 100% compostable tea bag wrapper, absolutely delightful

Shower talk

Morning showerers — hear us out. First, who wants to get in bed with a day’s worth of dirt, grime, and germs? Second, an EOD shower is such a great time and place to reflect on your day and let those worries float right on down the drain. So, light a damn candle (unscented and 100% beeswax, of course), dim your bathroom lights, dry brush, and then wash the day away.

Sleepytime skin prep

Fresh out of the shower, prep your body for sleep with our favorite topical magnesium oil spray — rub it in and let it absorb before moisturizing for the *ultimate* relaxation experience. Then it’s time to grease up.

While we could go on and on about skincare, we’ll keep it simple and give you three picks to help prep your skin for a great night of sleep.
