Habits that make us happy

Making your day, week, or even life a little better doesn’t require a total overhaul…

Start simple by incorporating some good habits into your daily routine. Stick to it, start to stack them, and all of your little changes will amount to something big.

We’ve got a habit starter pack to get you going.

Let the light in

Sunshine is key! Start your day on the right foot by getting outside first thing in the morning and soak in that unfiltered sunshine to support your circadian rhythm.

Hot girl walk

We know, not the most original but there’s a reason for it!

Get out there and walk. Think about the things you’re grateful for, think about nothing at all, throw on your favorite podcast. A quick 30-minute walk will get you that much closer to your step goal and work wonders for your mental health.

Ditch the screen after dark

We’ve talked about this one before because it’s just that life-changing. Say GN to your screen long before bedtime. This one has been a game changer for our stress levels and sleep quality.

Needs more salt

Add some salt to your water.

To all our girlies who are challenging themselves to drink a gallon of water a day — first of all, stop. Second of all, start adding some minerals to your water. Add a shake of salt or Trace Minerals to support your mineral levels and balance your electrolytes.

FYI — not all salt is created equal. Our favorite is Redmond Real Sea Salt

Lemon ginger tea

Make your own lemon ginger tea by combining grated ginger, lemon juice, and honey. Add boiling water and let it steep for a few minutes. It’s a fun and healthy way to hydrate and can give your immune system a little boost. Bonus — by making your own “tea” you’re avoiding extra waste and exposure to plastics often found in tea bags.

Get going with gua sha

Take a few minutes to gua sha your face. Not only does it feel heavenly, it helps with circulation and toning. Our favorite is the Sorceress Stone Gua Sha Beauty Tool by The Golden Secrets.

I need a (face) massage

Along the same lines (err lack thereof — you won’t be seeing any fine lines after these two skincare steps 😉), the results you’ll see from incorporating facial massage into your routine are mindblowing. Take a little time out of your day or add this step to your nighttime routine and, with a little bit of consistency, you might just start seeing results within a few weeks. For all things face massage, follow @anastasiabeautyfascia.

Plan your week

Setting aside just 20 minutes at the beginning of your week can make a huge difference. Record your meetings, blocks for self care, workouts, etc. in a planner, on your Google Calendar, whatever makes sense for you. Go one step further and set your goals and intentions for the week. Mapping it all out will feel like you’re decluttering your brain and setting yourself up for success.

Check up on friends

Stop thinking about your friend who lives on the other side of the country and actually reach out! Set aside 30 minutes for a phone call or just a few minutes for a simple text exchange. It might just make their day and yours.

Magnesium

We don’t want to speak for everyone, but it’s likely that you need a little boost of magnesium. Our favorite topical magnesium oil spray calms nerves and muscles, supports healthy brain function and improves mood by regulating neurotransmitters that send messages throughout your brain and nervous system. Rub it in and let it absorb before moisturizing for the *ultimate* relaxation experience.

Break up your workday

This one is especially important for all of our WFHers. Just like you would if you were in the office, give yourself permission to take a lunch break. Use that time to make a nice meal, get out for your daily walk, or to get a quick workout in. Trust us, it will take your productivity to the next level.

Make time for your people

Nourishing your relationships is a huge aspect of overall wellbeing and health. Make plans with your girls and stick to them!

Love,
WB
